Who we are

This website is run by Bukaya Medical Centre Limited, Buhuru Trading Centre, Etenje Ward, Mumias West Sub-County, Kakamega County. For anything in this policy, write to info@bmcafya.org or call 0702 349100.

What this website collects

This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising trackers. Fonts and images are served from this site rather than a third party.

The one exception is the Google Maps panel on the home page and the contact page. It is loaded from Google, so opening either of those pages sends your IP address and browser details to Google, which may set its own cookies. That happens whether or not you use the map. Google handles this under its own privacy policy, not ours. No other page contacts anyone else.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, time of request, page requested, browser type) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.

The enquiry form

The enquiry form on the contact page sends us nothing by itself. What you type stays in your browser: the form writes the message and opens it in your own email app, where you can read it over and choose whether to send it. Nothing reaches us, and nothing is stored on this site, unless you press send there.

Once you do send it, we receive the name, phone number, optional email address and message in the email. We use them only to reply to you, and we keep them only as long as it takes to deal with your enquiry, after which they are deleted.

Please do not use the form to describe symptoms or health conditions. It is not a clinical channel, and although the centre is open 24 hours the mailbox is not monitored around the clock, so it must never be used in an emergency. Call us or come to the centre instead.

Information you give us at the centre

Health information you give us in person, on the phone, or during care is handled under our clinical records procedures and the law that governs patient confidentiality. It is separate from this website and is not covered by this policy.

Links to other services

The map on this site is embedded from Google Maps, as described above, and our WhatsApp and phone links open apps on your device. Once you use the map or follow one of those links, the privacy terms of that service apply, not ours.

Your rights

Under the Data Protection Act, 2019 you may ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Contact us using the details above and we will respond within the time the Act allows. You may also complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

If we change how this website handles information, we will update this page and the date shown at the top.
